John is a presales engineer and solutions architect with Avnet Technology Solutions (formerly Horizon Open Systems).

With almost a decade of Sun experience behind him - from solutions design to implementation - he has seen the Sun hardware and software stack evolve to help businesses and users work better and smarter.

Most of John’s work involves designing solutions based on the Sun Java Enterprise System suite of software – principally the Directory Server and Communications - related products such as Messaging and Calendaring.

John has a Masters Degree in IT from N.U.I., Galway.
