Vodafone Ireland
Vodafone Ireland is looking for catchy, useful, fun widgets, for its new Application Shop.
It's Big
The Application Shop is a major new strategic direction and not just for Vodafone Ireland. The widgets you create could be available in Ireland but you also have the chance to distribute and soon sell these to Vodafone customers in eight countries including Germany and the UK - and you keep 70% of the revenues.
And it doesn't end there. Eventually, your Widgets could be available to over 700 million Vodafone customers in 28 countries - including the US and China.
That's because Vodafone Widgets are intended to work on more than one phone. Starting off at launch with a number of selected terminals, Vodafone Widgets will quickly be rolled out across more and more handsets.
It's Easy
But the best bit is that widgets are really easy to make. All our widget technologies are based on W3C standards. All details on how to get started, SDK's and how to upload your Widget are available online at www.betavine.net/bvportal/resources/widgets There's a developer community at "mobile web widgets Ireland" on Facebook.
There are already hundreds of widgets available across Europe, providing anything from train timetables to interactive Radio.
It's not the technology that will make the difference - it's the idea.
It's A Revolution
Widgets have more capability and possible applications of use with benefits to revolutionise the following industries:
- Mobile Content Market
- Utilities & Service Industry
- Web Services Industry
- Advertising Industry
- Media Industry
- Social Networking
- Existing SME/SoHo/Corporate business
- Offering new opportunities in all these industries as well as new monetisation possibilities and CRM applications.
